Sightings and Strandings

* According to the current understanding of distribution, Fin, Minke and Sei whales are not present in the Northern Indian ocean.
Female individual live stranded on Rajodi beach at 1330 on 13th July 2017. Locals tried to push it back into the water unsuccessfully. The individual died within two hours of the rescue attempt and was buried in the same location.
Approximate length of the animal was about 228 cm. Bleeding was observed from the genital opening/anus.
This stranding was reported by Virat Singh (09821343134). Pictures were circulated by the local residents.
